形容词短语(Adjective Phrase)

1．形容词短语的定义

形容词短语指以一个形容词为中心构成的短语，在句中的功能相当于形容词。

2．形容词短语的构成和句法功能

形容词短语由“(副词)＋形容词＋(介词短语)”构成，在句中常作定语、表语、宾语补足语、状语。

①形容词短语作定语。

He was one of the most influential performers of modern jazz.

他是现代爵士乐最有影响力的表演者之一。

②形容词短语作表语。

Seeing her win the gold medal at the Olympics, we were all wild with joy.

看到他在奥运会上赢得了金牌，我们真是欣喜若狂。

③形容词短语作宾语补足语。

His hard work made him very successful in his job.

他的勤奋工作使得他在工作上非常成功。

④形容词短语作状语。

After the war, the soldiers returned home, safe and sound.
