Read the sentences and predict.

The two mountains were very high and big.

A very old man tried to move the mountains.

A man told Yu Gong that he could never do it. 

Listen again and circle the words you hear.

1. A man saw Yu Gong and his (children/family) when they were working on moving the mountains.

2. He told Yu Gong he could never do it because he was old and (poor/weak).

3. As soon as the man finished (talking/speaking), Yu Gong said that his family could continue to move the mountains after he died.

Language points

1. a little bit  = a little/a bit/kind of

（1）+ 形容词或副词或比较级时，表示“一点儿”

Eg. 我有点累了，让我们休息一会儿。

（2） a little bit of = a little of=a bit of+不可数名词

Eg. 她往嘴里倒了一些盐水。

She poured a bit of salt water in her mouth. 

2. silly adj. 愚蠢的=foolish    silly-sillier-silliest

3.seem v. 似乎      连系动词+adj.

It seems adj. to do…    做…似乎…

4. instead of +n/ doing sth. 代替，而不是…

后面必须跟 n.或v-ing的短语

instead  adv. 代替   单独放句首打逗号，或放句末

Eg. 咖啡没有了，你愿意喝水代替吗？

We have no coffee. Would you like some water instead? =Instead..., would you…?

5. neither of + n .复+ v.单/复…  两个都不
