一般在动词词尾直接加ed。

watch—watched, cook—cooked, row-rowed

以不发音的字母e结尾的动词,直接在词尾加d。

dance--danced, like—liked, phone-phoned

以辅音字母+y结尾的动词,变y为i,再加ed。

study--studied , carry--carried

以单个辅音字母结尾的重读闭音节动词,先双写单词末尾的辅音字母,再加ed。

stop--stopped, plan--planned
